THE BEST NEW-GENERATION TENNIS PLAYERS TO WATCH

Most sports have star players that have reigned at the top of the charts for a long time, which is true in tennis. They are the ones to watch in the big tournaments, but now we are seeing another force challenging the veterans. These young players, 24 years old and under, are shining through and showing huge potential to become the future of tennis.

It is hard not to love tennis, and not to watch it all the time. There has generally been an increasing interest among people when it comes to tennis.

Casper Ruud

Norwegian Casper Ruud has shown some of his incredible talents over the last few years and is currently ranking as number 3 in the world. He is 23 years old and has already had some extreme accomplishments in his career so far. In September last year, he made it to a singles ranking of world No. 2, making him the highest-ranking Norwegian in history and qualifying for the year-ending ATP World Tour Finals. He also won the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires earlier this year, when he defeated Diego Schwartzman.

Hubert Hurkacz

Another young talent to be on the lookout for is Polish 25-year-old Hubert Hurkacz. He is currently ranked at No. 10 but was placed one rank higher last year, making him the highest-ranking male tennis player in his country ever. He has also won five ATP Tour singles titles, including a Masters 1000 title at the 2021 Miami Open.

Jannik Sinner

Last, but certainly not least, we have Italian 21-year-old Jannik Sinner. He is now ranked as No. 12, although he has been at No. 9 before. The talented player has won six ATP titles in singles and one in doubles during his career. This also made him the youngest ATP titleholder since 2008 by winning the 2020 Sofia Open. He is also the youngest tennis player to have five titles since Novak Djokovic in 2007

As tennis fans, we are always happy to see new and aspiring young talents that keep the sport alive. These players show a lot of potentials, for example, earlier this fall, when Norwegian Casper Ruud put up a fight in the US Open finale. Young talents like these men crowd the top-ranking list with younger people, which we are very happy to see. It makes it a lot more fun to watch, and we are all happy to see the experienced players meet some strong competition from time to time.

  3. I did a similar writeup, and we have a lot of the same picks. It’s weird because I didn’t even see this article until now. Your blog is a great resource, I’ll check out some of the other articles and see if we can possibly collaborate on more ideas in the future!
